About the LDC Centre

South Lake Early Learning Centre is a community based not for profit organisation that has been servicing families in the South Lake community for the past 30+ years.

We provide Early Education and Care for children 0-5yr olds and Before and After School care from Kindy age onwards. Our service is currently licensed for 69 children at Long Day Care (LDC) and 39 children at Out of School Hours Care (OSHC), providing a high quality & educational environment that promotes children’s well-being and development.
Our centre is managed by a volunteer management committee. All funds raised by the centre go back into the centre for the children and families.

Our Centre is approved to operate by the Department of Communities Education and Care Regulatory Unit and is rated meeting all National Quality Standards.

Educational Program

Nurturing Young Minds from 6 Weeks to School Age. Our play-based program offers a safe, nurturing indoor and recently upgraded natural outdoor environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. Guided by the EYLF, we foster confidence, independence, friendships, and essential skills while inspiring a lifelong love of learning.
Healthy Foods

Nutritious Meals

We provide nutritious meals prepared on-site, including allergy-friendly options, while encouraging children to develop lifelong healthy habits through fun, everyday learning experiences.
Qualified Educators

Qualified Educators

Our dedicated, long-term educators, many with over 10 years at our centre, bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. Their caring approach creates a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and confident to learn, grow, and thrive.
Fun Activities

Extra Curricular activities

As part of our commitment to supporting families, we offer a 25% Planned Holiday Discount for children with permanent weekly bookings. Children aged 2 years and over also enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities at no additional cost, enriching their learning and development through fun and engaging
Sunscreen

Sunscreen & Hats

To help keep children safe in the sun, we provide sunscreen and hats for all children. If your child has a sensitivity or allergy to our sunscreen, please provide their preferred sunscreen from home. Our hats are washed regularly and rotated throughout the day to ensure they remain clean and hygienic.

Orientation

We are family & community focused – we value strong partnerships with families and work together to support each child’s learning and development. Our complimentary two-day orientation program provides a gentle transition, allowing children to explore their new environment, build friendships, and become familiar with our educators in a warm and welcoming setting.

Location and Convenience

South Lake Early Learning Centre

Located at 2 South Lake Drive, South Lake, next to the Family Ottey Centre and the shops on Berrigan Drive. With Muzz Buzz directly in front and United petrol station on the corner of South Lake Drive and Berrigan Drive, families can enjoy convenient drop-offs and pick-ups, along with ample on-site parking.

Educational Program

Nurturing Young Minds from 6 weeks to up to school age

Our program provides a safe, engaging environment where every child is valued and supported. Through play-based learning, children explore, build friendships, and grow in confidence and independence.

Tailored activities help 3–5 year olds develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, and school readiness. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), we support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, inspiring a lifelong love of learning.
